"YEEEHA!" The monks on the temple grounds grumbled, but Yi Lin didn't care. Karoi had his wings tucked close to his body and was diving so fast she felt as if she were going to fall off. It helped to stave off the boredom.
Did the avatar have to be so slow?
Ah, but it didn't matter, because she was faster than anything else in the air right now. Even those gila-hawks would have trouble keeping up with Karoi. "Loop!" She cried, and he instantly curved upward and upside down, letting her hang in the air and scream with glee. When she had righted herself on Karoi's back, she sighed. "I hope that Avatar hurries up.People can be so slow sometimes."
As he started climbing for another dive, Karoi laughed and said, "Not everyone can be as fast as me, Yi Lin." She grumbled. "Yeah, I know."
kiki stood, her wrists bleeding. again. she watched the girl dive downwards on the gryphon's bavk, loop, and climb upwards again, screaming with glee the whole time. she realized that if they dove again, they'd plow right into her. kiki didn't care. she took hold of khadiir once more and pulled its blade across the underside of her arm, feeling the piercing, icy feeling numb her. blood dripped from her fingertips, they twitched unsteadily. her hazel eyes were dark. she wondered about the gryphon and the girl. if they hit her, they'd likely trigger her defenses, making her a beastly, wolflike killing machine. she hoped the girl was a bender, and a tough one at that. as the animal dove once more, she planted her feet firmly on the ground, readying herself for the impact. they neared, and it seemed that they didn't notice her. kiki, though, was unlucky once more, and the cloud of self-pity and misery lifted just before the beast smashed into her. her eyes lightened, "no, don't-" she yelled quickly, but it was too late, her body flew meters and meters away, her head snapped back, she plowed into the ground. scraped up, sure, but she was concious and breathing. she waited for the girl to approach her. her instincts were kicking in. her teeth elongated first, and she began to see red.
